How to apply for a position with the City of Phenix City:

Applications may be obtained from the City of Phenix City Human Resources Department or downloaded from the website. Applications are only taken through the Human Resources Department located at 1103 Broad Street. Applications are available for pick up and drop off  during the following days:

• Monday: 2 – 5 p.m., Eastern Time
• Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Eastern Time

The application must be filed with the City of Phenix City Human Resources Department. No person or departments are authorized to accept applications except the Human Resources Department. Applications may be delivered in person, by hand-mail, by the U. S. Postal Service, or any other mail delivery service. Completed applications will be accepted until the hiring needs are met. The announcement may be closed at any time without prior notice. A separate application for each position applied for must be submitted.

Resumes
Resumes may be attached to the application, but will not be accepted in the place of a completed application form. Professional-level applicants are encouraged to submit a resume with the completed application.

Qualifications
Each person must meet the requirements listed in the Qualifications section of the position posting. Describe your qualifications as completely and accurately as possible. Applications must be completely filled out and received in the Office of the Human Resources Director.

Probationary Period
All appointments to permanent positions are made for a probationary period of twelve months from date of hire, except police officer, firefighters and code enforcement officers who have an eighteen month probationary period.  This working test period is to determine if the work and work habits of the employee are satisfactory and if the employee merits permanent appointment.
