The City of Phenix City has updated its Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP) in accordance with the Code of Alabama Section 22-27-47. The SWMP provides for the anticipated solid waste needs of Phenix City for the next ten years. The SWMP includes the summary and estimation of solid waste generation, collection, disposal and recycling in Phenix City.
A public comment period will begin April 23, 2026 and will extend through May 26, 2026. A public hearing will be held following the Planning Commission Meeting in the City Council Chambers located in the Phenix City Public Safety Building at 1111 Broad Street Phenix City, AL. on May 26, 2026. Any interested persons may attend and comment at the meeting.
The plan can be reviewed online via Phenix City’s website and social media posts or in person during normal business hours at the Phenix City Engineering Department located at 1206 7th Ave. Phenix City, AL. Copies of the plan may be obtained by contacting the Phenix City Engineering Department at 334-448-2760 or via email at engineeringpw@phenixcityal.gov.
