Level 1 swimmers will receive assistance from an instructor and practice the following skills: blowing bubbles\, submerging underwater\, kicking with a kickboard\, and floating on the back.Level 2: Beginner: If a swimmer shows more confidence in the water and can float without assistance. Level 2 will reinforce level 1 skills with the new following skills: Freestyle arms\, rotary breathing\, backstroke arms\, jumping in the water from the side of the pool\, and swimming or kicking to the wall.Level 3: Intermediate: If a swimmer can kick with a kickboard without assistance\, shows basic knowledge of how to swim freestyle and backstroke. Level 3 focuses on building endurance. The swimmer will practice the following skills: Pushing off the wall in streamline and transition into swimming\, kicking 25 yards with a kickboard unassisted\, and swimming approximately half the pool backstroke and freestyle. \nCall Phenix City Parks and Recreation at 334-291-4719 for more information.
