SUMMARY:Blues Beatles @ the Phenix City Amphitheater
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fiery live performance by the Blues Beatles on Saturday\, June 23\, at the Phenix City Amphitheater! Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the gate the night of the show\, or in advance at the Phenix City Parks and Recreation Office or xorbia.com. A food truck court will be onsite and adult beverages will be available for purchase. Blankets and chairs are welcome\, but no outside food\, beverages\, or pets allowed. Rain or Shine. Kids 12 and under are FREE! Our opening act will be Skyler Saufley and the 99th Degree. \nBlues Beatles started during the breaks of the rehearsals of Today – an original band that Marcos Viana\, Flavio Naves\, Lancaster Ferreira\, Bruno Falcão and Fred Barley started in 2010. Marcos\, the singer\, would invariably pick up his acoustic guitar and start playing Beatles songs. The other members of the band were amazed at how natural the songs sounded\, as if he had written them himself. Being blues players the rest of the band started adding their blues twist to these “break songs”. One day Lancaster said: “why don’t we mix these two things we love to play? We could call this Blues Beatles!”Everyone loved the idea and together they started the Blues Beatles in 2013. \nThe first version of the Beatles songs that caught people’s attention was Ticket To Ride. The video has now more than two million views on Facebook. The band has worked and reworked many different songs since it was formed\, but only the ones that sound natural to their ears stay in the repertoire. The arrangements combine blues and soul grooves that suit the vocals of the songs while adding a different feel to them. Instrumental solos and improvisation\, typical elements of the blues\, are an integral part of the Blues Beatles style. Their fiery live performances showcase their individual and collective skills as soloists. \nSkyler Saufley is a local blues guitarist and is considered by many to be “The best new talent to hit the Columbus-Phenix City music scene in a number of years”\, often being compared to the likes of Eric Clapton and B.B King. From the moment he picked up his first guitar\, Skyler has been playing and studying the blues with the sole purpose of preserving its history and maintaining the legacy left behind by the blues legends before him. \n***GATES OPEN AT 6:30 PM EASTERN TIME\, SHOW STARTS AT 8***
