DESCRIPTION:2017 Special Election\nNotice is hereby given that on the 14th day of November\, 2017\, a special election for the purpose of electing a councilmember for District 2 to the City Council of the City of Phenix City\, Alabama\, will be held and that all registered and qualified electors of the state\, who reside within the corporate limits of Phenix City\, Alabama\, and have resided therein for 30 days or more immediately preceding the date of the election\, and who are qualified to vote in the county precinct which embraces and covers that part of the corporate limits of said city in which the elector resides\, will be authorized to participate in the election. \nThe City of Phenix City has been divided into three (3) districts containing as nearly equal number of people as possible\, and the following polling boxes will be in said district; District Two shall consist of Box 2. Each qualified voter of District 2 / Box 2 in the election may cast a vote for a candidate for District Two. \nThe polls will be opened from 7 a.m.\, EST to 7 p.m. EST at: \nCentral Activity Center\, 1500 14th Street\, Phenix City\, Alabama \nIf necessary\, a run-off election will be held on Tuesday\, December 19\, 2017 \nAny qualified elector who will have resided within the municipality\, or if the municipality is districted\, within the district from which he or she seeks elections\, for a period of at least 90 days on elections day may qualify to run for office by filing the appropriate forms and paying any appropriate fees\, as otherwise provided by law beginning September 6\, 2017\, through close of business September 26\, 2017. \nView the official Election Notice. \nCandidates\nThe qualifying period for potential candidates for the November 14\, 2017 Special Called Election ended at 5 p.m.\, September 26\, 2017.
